Product Details
A beautiful antique Victorian sapphire and diamond carved half-hoop ring set with a trilogy of cornflower-blue sapphires with four twinkling old mine-cut diamonds nestled in between. The sapphires weigh approx. 0.20 and 0.60ct in the centre (approx. 1ct total) with approx. 0.16ct of diamond.
Sapphire is the birthstone of September. The blue variety is considered a stone of truth, wisdom and protection and has long been a favourite of kings and royalty, adored for its royal blue colouring which was considered a reflection of the sky and the heavens, making it divine.
The piece is modelled in 18ct gold with scrolled engraving down the sides of the gallery. It dates to the late 19th Century and exhibits a fabulous collection of natural gems that fan out beautifully over the finger.
We recommend you insure for £2,000. We can provide a written Valuation on completion of the sale.
