A grand antique Victorian Scottish brooch showcasing a spectacular Cairngorm in the centre which is approx. 20ct and haloed by smaller Cairngorms which are approx. 3ct each.
Cairngorms are sourced from the Cairngorm mountains in Scotland and have a lovely treacle coloured hue that glows like a dark Citrine.
Scottish jewellery grew in popularity in the mid- 1800s as Queen Victoria’s frequent trips to her Scottish Castle Balmoral saw her return with Scottish souvenirs and jewellery which influenced the trend in Britain.
The piece is a fabulous crown shaped design modelled in solid 9ct Yellow Gold with intricate detailing and a secure pin and safety clasp. It is steeped in history and highly collectable.
