A beautiful antique Victorian lavaliere necklace, featuring a fabulous drop pendant adorned with a shamrock in the centre consisting of three pear cut peridot leaves, haloed by bright seed pearls which also chase up and down the droppers toward two more peridots at each end.
Shamrocks have long been associated with luck and good fortune and each leaf is said to represent faith, hope and love. Peridots are considered a gem of the sun and a gift from Mother Nature with their natural lime-green colouring and inner light evoking the beauty of a sunny summer’s day, bringing joy and serenity to all who look upon it.
The open-work pendant is fashioned in 15ct yellow gold, edged with milgrain and joins a fine 15ct chain and ring clasp. It dates to the late 19th Century and has remained in excellent condition.
