This fabulous antique Victorian Suffragette brooch is Circa 1900. Set in 15ct Gold.
This brooch beautifully represents the Suffragette period with a central large Amethyst 2.80ct in size, surrounded by lustrous Pearls, and 2 Peridots.
Emmeline Pankhurst was the leader of the British Suffragette movement in the 19th century and through her efforts won the right for women to vote.
Suffragettes liked to be depicted as feminine. Their jewellery was chosen to counter the stereotypes put forward by opponents that they were mannish or shrieking!
