This beautiful Victorian 18ct Gold Suffragette ring is dated Chester 1897.
The wonderful ring is decorated with a deep, purple 0.25ct Amethyst, with two rich green Peridots and lovely sparkling old cut Diamonds nestled in-between.
Suffragettes liked to be depicted as feminine, their jewellery popularly consisted of Violet Green and White colours which were chosen to counter the stereotypes put forward by opponents that they were mannish or shrieking.
Green is for Give, white is for Women and violet is for Votes.
