Details
Dating to the late 19th Century, these substantial antique Victorian torpedo earrings are crafted in muted 9ct gold with a gentle rosy patina that only time can bestow. They feature sharply faceted drops and chequered tops, designed to dance and catch the light with every movement. In an era before electricity, such faceting was a clever technique to ensure they would have gleamed beautifully under evening candlelight, catching the eye of everyone in the room as they framed the face.
Finding antique drop earrings of this scale and condition is a rare pleasure, and these have acquired a wonderfully smooth finish through years of wear. Style them with an elegant updo to maximise their shimmer or pair them with contemporary attire for a striking blend of old and new.
