This fabulous Victorian snake brooch is set in Steel, gilded in 18ct Yellow Gold and depicts three coiled serpents, each crowned with a Paste stone in blue, red and green.
Serpent jewellery became popular in the Victorian era and symbolized a wonderful combination of love, loyalty and friendship. This particular piece has woven the snakes together into a design reminiscent of a celtic knot.
A beautiful piece, and an excellent talking point.
