Three large hand carved floral droppers are cascading off the chunky Whitby Jet necklace.
Each carving is very well executed with a high relief workmanship, a smoothness has developed with age too.
Whitby Jet was brought to the attention of the world by Queen Victoria who used Whitby Jet as part of her mourning attire.
Jet is a type of brown coal a fossilised wood from an ancient tree similar to the monkey puzzle tree.
