Details
A sweet antique Victorian witches’ heart brooch fashioned in 18ct yellow gold. The open heart is bordered with an alternating pattern of sky-blue cabochon turquoise and lustrous natural half-pearls that graduate toward scrolling flourishes at each end.
The Witches’ Heart motif, originating in ancient times as a talisman to ward off evil, evolved in the 18th century into a romantic token, often given by lovers to symbolise the enchanting, “bewitching” nature of their affection. In Victorian jewellery, it was commonly paired with turquoise, a stone of everlasting love, and pearls, a stone of loyalty.
Continue a story of romance by gifting this beautiful Victorian witches’ heart brooch to your true love. It’s a highly collectable piece of Victorian heritage that has remained in excellent condition and displays a gorgeous collection of calming blue and white gems.
