This unique Art Deco Suffragette brooch is decorated in sparkling white Paste Stones with violet and green Paste’s displayed across the centre.
Suffragettes liked to be depicted as feminine, their jewellery popularly consisted of Violet Green and White colours which were chosen to counter the stereotypes put forward by opponents that they were mannish or shrieking! Green is for Give, white is for Women and violet is for Votes!
Paste is a heavy transparent flint glass that simulates the fire and brilliance of gemstones. White Pastes sparkle just like Diamonds, captivating the allure of natures beauty.
The stones are set in a fancy Silver gallery and fitted with a sturdy pin and safety catch.
