Details
Formed deep beneath the Arctic ice over a billion years ago, this magnificent, fully certified 9.04-carat cushion-cut ruby takes centre stage in this breath-taking Edwardian-inspired cluster ring. It’s accompanied by a full ruby report confirming its exceptional quality and natural Greenland origin and is beautifully contrasted by a frame of 14 bright, natural brilliant-cut diamonds, weighing a combined 1.97 carats, with VS1 clarity and H colour.
Greenland rubies are a rare and distinctive variety of corundum and among the oldest rubies known on Earth. Prized for their remote Arctic origin and naturally rich colouring, this exceptional ruby displays a desirable raspberry-pink hue, complemented by fine rutile inclusions that form delicate, needle-like “silk” - a distinctive and desirable characteristic of this variety.
The ring is crafted in solid platinum throughout with an exclusive 18ct yellow gold claw setting for the ruby, complemented by an intricate open basket gallery at the back, with ornate, pierced petal-work, adding an elegant Edwardian-inspired touch.
Greenland rubies of this size and calibre are exceptionally rare, and paired with dazzling diamonds, this ring is a true showstopper. Perfect as a bold evening statement or a spectacular alternative engagement ring, the ruby symbolically forms a passionate beating heart at its centre, encircled by the eternal and protective embrace of the diamonds.
