Bestowed with a regal blue beauty, this stunning Edwardian-inspired tanzanite diamond teardrop pendant is truly something special. Weighing an impressive 8 carats, the deep indigo-blue tanzanite teardrop makes a striking centrepiece on its own, but is enhanced further by a dazzling frame of seventeen round brilliant cut diamonds, with a sweet heart cut diamond crowned above. They’re all extremely bright, with SI1 clarity – H colour and the heart weighs approx. 0.60ct on its own, with a combined diamond weight of approx. 2 carats.
Incredibly, Tanzanite remained undiscovered until the late 1960s, when a group of Maasai herders stumbled upon the mysterious blue gems by chance in the hills of Tanzania. They were later identified to be a new and rare form of blue “Zoisite”, with an intense indigo-blue hue that became highly sought after across the globe and named “Tanzanite” by Tiffany & Co. to highlight its unique origin.
The luxurious tanzanite is claw set in a lustrous platinum teardrop pendant, which along with the diamonds, creates a beautiful contrast, making it stand out beautifully against its sparkling outer frame.
