A stunning Victorian style Lizard brooch encrusted with sparkling Diamonds, red Ruby eyes and a stripe of blue Sapphires down the back and tail.
Victorian jewellery mirrored Queen Victoria’s life with the ‘Romantic’ period producing decorative animal, bird and lizard pieces, symbolising the monarch’s sentimental side.
Sapphires were once called the ‘Stone of Destiny’ and were a symbol of friendship and loyalty.
The front of the lizard is Silver and backed in 18ct Yellow Gold including the pin.
A pretty little find and highly collectable.
