This beautiful Silver and 9ct Gold cross pendant is made representing the Suffragette movement.
Suffragettes liked to be depicted as feminine, their jewellery popularly consisted of Violet Green and White colours which were chosen to counter the stereotypes put forward by opponents that they were mannish or shrieking!
The wonderful cross is decorated in creamy Pearls, rich green Peridots and violet Amethyst’s.
Green is for Give, white is for Women and violet is for Votes.
Amethyst has been highly esteemed throughout the ages for its stunning beauty which has adorned regal jewellery all around the world, from ancient Egypt to the British crown jewels.
The Peridot is a stone of lightness and beauty and was believed to be a stone of springtime by ancients who considered it a gift from Mother Nature.
The pendant is all set in Silver and backed in 9ct Yellow Gold.
The piece is fitted with a hinged clasp which is also encrusted with Amethyst stones.
