Details
An imposing vintage amethyst cocktail ring boasting an enormous oval cut amethyst held securely in a solid 14ct white gold four-claw mount, with a thick band at the back. The centrepiece weighs an astonishing 32 carats (approx.), possibly one of the biggest we’ve ever seen on a ring. It has a velvety, deep-violet hue and skilfully cut briolette facets at the back that shimmer like light glittering on a deep purple ocean.
Amethyst’s regal purple-violet hue has been a favourite of kings and royalty throughout history and was said to provide clarity, protection, and wisdom to the wearer. Legend also links Saint Valentine to the stone, as he was said to have worn an amethyst ring carved with Cupid, making it the birthstone for February and a popular Valentines gift as well.
A truly magnificent statement piece, this substantial vintage amethyst cocktail ring is sure to turn heads as it sits beside your cocktail glass, with the breath-taking natural amethyst crowned high and proud on top.
We recommend you insure for £3,000. We can provide a written Valuation on completion of the sale.
