This magnificent vintage Victorian Revival amethyst and pearl fringe necklace is hallmarked Edinburgh, 1976 and bears the prestigious mark of D.J. Ewing & Co. The necklace showcases eleven regal oval-cut amethysts interspersed with lustrous white cultured pearls in-between, a pairing long associated with protection, love and devotion. The velvety violet gemstones create a striking contrast against the glowing pearls, with each amethyst graduating from approx. 2.2ct to a commanding 3.3ct at the centre.
Every amethyst is secured within an ornate coronet-style frame, beautifully crafted in warm 9ct yellow gold, with a matching fine chain and ring clasp. It measures 16.3 inches, so it rests gracefully along the collarbone, making it an effortlessly elegant statement piece for both formal occasions and everyday sophistication.
