A wonderful vintage Victorian revival fox stick pin fashioned in sunny 18ct yellow gold. The twisted pin is topped with a reflective dish, with a Fox’s head peeking out of the centre, depicted with large round eyes and fine fur detailing.
Fox stick pins were popular during the Victorian era, traditionally worn on lapels, ties, scarves, or hats, and favoured in country-living and rural fashion, reflecting a love of nature, hunting, and the outdoors. These whimsical pieces saw a revival in the mid-20th Century with items echoing the style and motifs of the Victorian originals.
This vintage fox stick pin is a great collector’s piece and complete with the maker’s initials and hallmarks on the reverse, indicating it was made in Birmingham in 1970.
