Details
This imposing vintage opal cocktail ring is built around a large natural cabochon opal, with ethereal green, blue and orange embers smouldering beneath the surface. It weighs approx. 20 carats and is bezel set within a substantial sterling silver gallery, featuring an ornate rope-edge border surrounded by finely engraved leaf and flower motifs, with further engraving at the back and around the band.
Opal is the birthstone of October and is considered a stone of luck, creativity, and passion. Its enchanting spectrum of colours, known as “opalescence”, shimmer across the surface of the stone as if alive and evoke the natural beauty of a fractured rainbow or the Aurora Borealis dancing against the night sky.
Make a bold statement with this remarkable vintage opal cocktail ring, showcasing a truly spellbinding natural opal that sits high and proud atop the finger, captivating all who look upon it. It dates to the mid-20th Century and the “Sterling” stamp on the back suggests it likely originated from Australia.
