Details
Hallmarked in Birmingham in 1979, this striking opal solitaire ring is crafted in solid 18ct yellow gold and crowned with an enchanting ~3.5ct natural opal that comes alive with an electric play of colour, revealing flashes of neon green, celestial turquoise and warm golden embers. The stone is elevated within an intricate coronet claw gallery with split, leaf shoulders, lending the design a touch of Victorian Revival romance.
Long celebrated as talismans of hope, fidelity and passion, opals have inspired fascination for centuries. Their mesmerising play of colour captures the magic of a fractured rainbow or the Aurora Borealis, as though an entire cosmos were suspended within a single stone.
In excellent condition, with a beautifully bright opal and sturdy, secure claws, this captivating opal cocktail ring is ready to be worn and adored once more. It comes complete with a beautiful vintage duck-egg blue leather and black velvet box from Newcastle's renowned Northern Goldsmiths to present it in.
