Vintage Scarab Beetle Gemstone Bracelet 12ct Gold Filled

A colourful mid 20^th Century scarab bracelet (Circa 1950) adorned with seven semi-precious cabochons which appear to be banded agate, red carnelian, yellow tiger’s eye, camouflage jasper, purple chalcedony, pink rhodonite and blue turquoise. They each display their own distinct colouring and patterning and have been carved to depict the shells of scarab beetles. 

Egyptian style jewellery saw a revival in the 20^th Century after an abundance of archaeological discoveries, most notably the discovery of King Tutankhamun’s tomb brought about a fascination and desire for Egyptian themed pieces across Europe. Scarabs were one of many popular motifs and were a symbol of renewal and rebirth in ancient Egypt. 

The open bezel settings and connecting links are all 12ct gold filled and held by a secure snap-lock clasp at the end. It’s a wonderfully unique statement piece displaying a magnificent assortment of natural gems, each engraved with the maker’s cryptic mark on the back.
