Product Details
A fabulous Egyptian-inspired snake collar, built around a steel spring cased in 9ct yellow gold to create a thick, expandable band that slithers fluidly. The serpent's head and tail unite at the bottom, symbolising eternal love and have been delicately engraved and set with pink ruby eyes (approx. 0.04ct each).
Egyptian-style snake jewellery saw a revival in the 20th Century after an abundance of archaeological discoveries, most notably the discovery of King Tutankhamun’s tomb, brought about a fascination and desire for Egyptian-themed pieces across Europe.
It’s an ingenious design and a wonderful statement necklace. It’s held by a secure, push-release box clasp at the end, complete with a safety catch and Birmingham hallmarks, dating to 1985.
We recommend you insure for £3,300. We can provide a written Valuation on completion of the sale.
