Details
A glamorous pair of antique Art Deco aquamarine drop earrings, showcasing four natural ocean-blue aquamarines, a combination of oval and cushion cuts (approx. 0.50 & 1.5ct), set in milgrain bezel frames. Crafted in 15ct yellow gold, they feature elegant open-work droppers connecting between the stones, with hook wires on top.
Aquamarine is the birthstone of March and is considered a stone of the sea, with its tranquil blue/ green hues emulating the beauty of a tropical ocean or icy glacial waters. It is said to bring about clarity, happiness and serenity and was once believed to be the treasure of Mermaids and provide protection to those venturing on long sea voyages.
These fabulous Art Deco era aquamarine drop earrings date to the 1920s and look beautiful dangling from each ear. They’re accompanied by an antique leatherette earring box to store them in, featuring a black velvet cushion inside and the maker’s mark “A.Kay & Bro.Ltd” printed on cream silk under the lid.
We recommend you insure for £2,100. We can provide a written Valuation on completion of the sale.
