Details
This fabulous antique Art Deco Lazarus paste brooch is crafted in silver and depicts a wonderful open-work wreath, decorated with a glittering array of clear white pastes and six larger Lazarus pastes stones, with a striking green glow and simulated veins to mimic those of a natural emerald.
Lazarus paste is a high-quality, green, faceted glass used to imitate emeralds. Made from leaded glass, it sparkles like the real thing and was popular during the Art Deco era, allowing stylish, bold jewellery to capture the look of expensive emeralds at a more affordable price.
Perfect for collectors, this bold Art Deco Lazarus paste brooch will look magnificent adorning a lapel once more. It dates to the 1920s and has remained in great condition thanks to its strong pin and safety lock catch at the back.
