A striking Art Deco brooch from the 1920s, masterfully crafted in silver and set with sparkling clear paste stones in a dynamic mix of round and baguette cuts. Ribbed green tourmaline spheres crown the top and bottom, while vibrant blue and red paste leaves bloom from the centre, adding a vivid splash of colour.
The design is inspired by the iconic “Tutti Frutti” (or “Fruit Salad”) style popularised by Cartier in the 1920s - 1930s. During this period, tourmaline was prized as a vibrant and accessible alternative to emerald, while expertly cut glass pastes were used to emulate the brilliance of rubies, sapphires, and diamonds.
In excellent condition, this bold brooch is quintessentially Deco, showcasing a dazzling array of glittering pastes.
