Product Details
A pretty antique Suffragette tribute pendant from the early 1900s decorated with twinkling old cut diamonds, white seed pearls, a violet almandine garnet dropper and central green peridot.
Jewellery displaying the colours green, violet and white was often worn in support of the Women’s Social and Political Union (WSPU) which was at the forefront of the UK suffrage movement in the early 1900s. They adopted these three colours to highlight their key virtues: Violet for Royalty, White for Purity and Green for Hope, and also formed the phrase “Give Women Votes!”
The gallery has a wonderful open-work design, with scrolling, foliate and bow motifs skillfully crafted in 15ct white/ yellow gold with milgrain dotted around the edges.
It’s in pristine condition and displays a colourful collection of natural gemstones that contrast and complement each other wonderfully.
