A gorgeous antique Art Nouveau lavaliere necklace made by Heinrich Levinger in the late 19^th Century. The focal point is a colourful butterfly pendant decorated with glowing green Plique-à-jour wings, three blister pearl droppers and three natural cabochon opals making up the head and eyes.

Heinrich Levinger was established in Pforzheim, Germany in the late 19^th Century and renowned for their fabulous Plique-à-jour pieces. Plique-à-jour is French for "letting in daylight" and is a technique in which enamel is applied with no backing, allowing the light to shine through the translucent layer and create a wonderful stained glass window effect. 

The pendant is fashioned in silver gilt and suspended from a long silver paperclip chain. It’s a striking design and highly collectable.
