Antique Edwardian Albert Bracelet Sterling Silver 18ct Gold Gilt Dated 1909

A grand antique Edwardian Albert bracelet hallmarked and dated 1909. The chain is made up of solid sterling silver curb links which have been gilded in 18ct yellow gold and bare a sterling lion passant. 

Albert chains were named after Prince Albert and were used by wealthy Victorian gentlemen to secure a pocket watch by attaching it via the T-bar to the buttonhole of a waistcoat. Today, they have taken on a new function and are commonly worn as a women’s statement necklace or in this case it has been converted into a fabulous bracelet.     

The piece is complete with a hanging T-bar and a claw clasp that can be attached to the T-bar, leaving a length of chain at the end, or attached to the chain creating a wider 9-inch bracelet if preferred.
