Adorned with two tranquil blue aquamarines, this dainty antique Edwardian aquamarine lavaliere necklace is a fine example of early 20th Century elegance. The aquas are a combination of oval and cushion cuts and have a desirable sea green-blue hue. They weigh approx. 2.5 and 4.5 carats and are bezel set in 15ct gold milgrain frames, with two parallel bars connecting to form a long, swinging pendulum.
Aquamarine is the birthstone of March and is considered a stone of the sea, with its tranquil blue/ green hues emulating the beauty of a tropical ocean or icy glacial waters. It is said to bring about clarity, happiness and serenity and was once believed to be the treasure of Mermaids and provide protection to those venturing on long sea voyages.
Dating to the early 1900s, this delicate Edwardian aquamarine pendulum necklace is in excellent condition and fitted with a fine 15ct gold chain and tube clasp. It’s perfect for everyday or for glamorous occasions and is sure to become a favourite in your jewellery collection.
We recommend you insure for £2,000. We can provide a written Valuation on completion of the sale.
