Details
This exquisite antique Austro-Hungarian sapphire and diamond bangle was crafted in Vienna during the late 19th Century and bears authentic hallmarks within the band. At its centre sits a vivid deep-blue cushion-cut sapphire (approx. 0.50ct), bezel-set within a dazzling daisy-shaped cluster of nine old cushion-cut diamonds, symbolising protection, eternity and devotion. The gemstones are securely set in silver atop a sleek 14ct yellow gold bangle, with additional rose-cut diamonds displayed down each shoulder (Est. 0.70ct total).
Created during the Austro-Hungarian Empire (1867–1918), jewellery from this period is celebrated for its theatrical Renaissance Revival styling, exceptional craftsmanship and fairy-tale opulence. Produced in cultural centres such as Vienna and Budapest, these magnificent jewels combine old-world grandeur with romantic design, making them highly sought-after by antique jewellery collectors today.
A rare and highly collectable antique Austro-Hungarian bangle, it remains in excellent condition to this day and is fitted with a secure box clasp and safety chain at the side. Rich in history and adorned with an exceptional combination of natural gemstones, it is a remarkable statement piece and an outstanding addition to any fine antique jewellery collection.
