A stunning antique diamond pendant/ brooch from the “La Belle époque” era, expertly crafted in 18ct yellow gold and platinum. The intricate open-work gallery is an abstract blend of scrolling flower and ribbon motifs, encrusted with a spectacular collection of natural single/ brilliant cut diamonds along the front, graded SI1 clarity – H colour. The largest weighs approx. 0.20ct and is bezel set at its heart, with an impressive total of approx. 1.4 carats across its entirety.
The La Belle Époque, or “Beautiful era”, spanned three distinct jewellery periods from 1890 -1915. This was a time of increasing wealth and flourishing arts across Europe before the outbreak of World War I in 1914. The pieces were celebrated for their intricate, Art Nouveau designs, exquisite craftsmanship and beautiful gemstones that embodied elegance, sophistication, and femininity.
This rare and versatile La Belle époque diamond pendant is a fine example of early 20th-Century elegance and craftsmanship with a dazzling collection of natural diamonds performing at the front. Wear it on the end of a gold chain, or simply fold-away the loop and use the pin and safety lock catch at the back to wear it as a brooch.
