A fabulous pair of antique Edwardian drop earrings, elegantly fashioned in two-tone 15ct yellow gold and platinum. The long, slender drops feature an alternating sequence of lustrous cultured pearls and sparkling old mine-cut diamonds, totalling approx. 0.32ct, culminating in magnificent pear-cut natural amethysts of approx. 2.8ct each. The amethysts display a rich, deep-violet hue, providing a dramatic and beautifully balanced contrast to the diamonds and pearls.
Characteristic of the Edwardian era, the design reflects the period’s love of delicate, elongated forms. Pearls and diamonds epitomised the refined elegance of the period, whilst the deep violet of the amethysts adds a touch of colour and regal elegance.
