Product Details
A lovely antique Edwardian locket fashioned in 9ct gold with an embossed pattern around the border and a leaf in the centre made up of eight red garnets (approx. 0.60ct total).
Garnet derives its name from the Latin word meaning “Seed” due to the stone’s similarities to a pomegranate seed. It’s desired for its blazing red flame that glows beneath its dark exterior and is considered a stone of passion and enduring love.
The shell has developed a lovely patina over time and is complete with clear Chester hallmarks and the maker’s mark on the back, dating it to 1914.
It’s able to hold two small photographs and is complete with a rim and window within, along with a fine 9ct gold figaro chain to display it on.
We recommend you insure for £1,995. We can provide a written Valuation on completion of the sale.
