Product Details
A grand antique Edwardian opal diamond cluster ring exhibiting a mesmerising natural opal in the centre (approx. 0.60ct), haloed by sixteen twinkling brilliant-cut diamonds (approx. 0.32ct total). The opal displays a vibrant palette of greens, blues and purples with fiery red and orange flashes that intensify with the light.
Opal is the birthstone of October. Their magic has been revered throughout history, desired for their enchanting rainbow of colours that flow and dance across the surface of the stone, evoking the natural beauty of planet Earth or the aurora borealis.
The gallery is modelled in 15ct gold and features a rope-edge border and broad shoulders engraved with foliate motifs. The piece is also complete with Chester hallmarks and displays a loving memorial inscription on the back of the gallery that reads, “In Memory of Father – Feb.9.1903 - Aged 58”.
The ring was clearly very dear to its original owner and has been kept in pristine condition. It dates to the early-1900s and showcases a truly magical natural opal at its heart.
