A fabulous antique Edwardian lavaliere necklace featuring a beautiful, open-work pendant at the bottom with octagonal links on either side. It’s decorated with twinkling clear paste stones and four larger pink pastes, three emerald-cut and one kite-cut dangling from the bottom of the gallery.

Paste is a heavy, transparent flint glass that has been used since ancient times to simulate the beauty of gemstones. The art of cutting paste takes expert craftsmanship and the highest quality stones are often able to replicate the cut, colour and sparkle of natural gems to near perfection.

It’s fashioned entirely in silver and has a wonderful Art Nouveau design with floral etching on the back of the larger links. It dates to the early 1900s and has remained in excellent condition.
