Product Details
An elegant antique Art Nouveau pendant adorned with a deep blue cushion cut sapphire bezel set in the centre (approx. 0.60ct), with a matching blue oval cut dropper below (approx. 0.65ct). A ring of twinkling rose cut diamonds halos the centre stone, with five larger old cuts dotted around the gallery (approx. 0.36ct total).
Sapphire is the birthstone of September. The blue variety is considered a stone of truth, wisdom and protection and has long been a favourite of kings and royalty, adored for its royal blue colouring which was considered a reflection of the sky and the heavens, making it divine.
The pendant has a fabulous, open-work design with milgrain edging and flowing motifs fashioned in 18ct white and yellow gold. It dates to the early 20th Century and is accompanied by a fine 9ct white gold cable chain complete with an ornate fish-hook clasp crowned with a single diamond in the middle.
We recommend you insure for £3,300. We can provide a written Valuation on completion of the sale.
