Product Details
A beautiful antique Suffragette lavaliere necklace from the early 20th Century featuring a fabulous Art Nouveau pendant with flowing curves and droppers decorated with seed pearls, three amethysts and a central peridot.
Jewellery displaying the colours green, violet and white were often worn in support of the Women’s Social and Political Union (WSPU) which was at the forefront of the UK suffrage movement in the early 1900s. They adopted these three colours to highlight their key virtues: Violet for Royalty, White for Purity and Green for Hope, and also formed the phrase “Give Women Votes!”
The pendant is fashioned in 15ct gold and branches out to a fine 15ct chain adorned with two additional pearls at the bottom. It’s a wonderful design with a gorgeous assortment of coloured gems.
