Product Details
A pretty antique Suffragette pendant depicting a flowing heart made in the Art Nouveau style. It’s a union of platinum and 18ct gold and bejewelled with green peridots, white diamonds and violet amethysts, the largest of which weighs approx. 1ct and hangs from a dropper at the bottom.
Jewellery displaying the colours green, violet and white was often worn in support of the Women’s Social and Political Union (WSPU) which was at the forefront of the UK suffrage movement in the early 1900s. They adopted these three colours to highlight their key virtues: Violet for Royalty, White for Purity and Green for Hope, and also formed the phrase “Give Women Votes!”
It’s a wonderful relic of such an important movement in British history and displays a colourful collection of semi-precious stones.
