This lovely antique 18ct Gold Edwardian Suffragette ring is dated Chester, 1904.
The fabulous piece is adorned with two green Peridots, four creamy Pearls and a violet Amethyst in the centre.
Suffragettes liked to be depicted as feminine, their jewellery popularly consisted of Violet, Green and White colours which were chosen to counter the stereotypes put forward by opponents that they were mannish or shrieking! Green is for Give, white is for Women and violet is for Votes!
The ring is all set in 18ct Yellow Gold and complete with hallmarks on the inside of the shank.
