Product Details
A wonderful antique cut steel collar and hair pin set beautifully preserved from the late Georgian era. The collar consists of glittering butterfly links with three droppers at the bottom and a box clasp at the top.
The matching hair pin is also topped with a butterfly which sits on a hinge with two long pins stretching out from the bottom. All are decorated with faceted cut-steel studs that glitter beautifully when they catch the light.
Cut-steel jewellery was at the height of its popularity in the 18th and 19th Century and was desired for its abundance of faceted steel studs, cut and polished to simulate the sparkle of gemstones.
It’s rare to find a matching Georgian set and in such excellent condition. They’re very well made and look beautiful worn together.
We recommend you insure for £2,300. We can provide a written Valuation on completion of the sale.
