Product Details
This gorgeous Georgian ring is set with a stunning central yellow Paste stone surrounded by sparkling white Paste stones. Circa 1800
Due to its age, Georgian jewellery is quite rare, with some pieces almost three hundred years old. From 1714 until 1837 four King Georges and a short-lived William gave rise to this extended period, spanning many fashions that are reflected in these stunning pieces of Georgian jewellery.
This magnificent Georgian heart is a 25ct yellow Paste stone surrounded by a halo of white Paste stones.
Paste is a heavy, very transparent flint glass that stimulates the fire and brilliance of gemstones because it has relatively high indices of refraction and strong dispersion, the Romans in particular were very skilful in the production of coloured glass pastes.
This ring probably started off in life as part of a necklace and has been converted over the centuries.
Steeped in Georgian history, this ring is a fabulous find, it looks lovely when worn!
