This exceptional Georgian sterling silver paste necklace/collar
leads to a lovely Georgian pendant. Set with large Old Cut
Paste stones that sparkle just like Old Cut Diamonds.
Steeped in English history.
Paste is a heavy, very transparent flint glass that stimulates the
fire and brilliance of gemstones because it has relatively high
indices of refraction and strong dispersion, The Romans in
particular were very skilful in the production
of coloured - glass pastes.
Due to its age, Georgian jewellery is quite rare, with some
pieces almost three hundred years old. From 1714 until 1837
four King Georges and a short-lived William gave rise to this
extended period, spanning many fashions that are
reflected in these stunning pieces of Georgian jewellery.
A fabulous Georgian necklace which is true to its Era, it has
developed a smoothness with age too.
The pendant is detachable so this can be worn as a collar
or complete with the pendant.
