This ring is a very beautiful large Old Cut Paste pink stone that is
foiled backed in its original gallery, 7ct in size.
When you look at this beautiful ring, it takes you on a journey,
each facet is hand polished of the Old Cut Paste stones.
The paste stones are set in silver.
Paste is heavy, very transparent flint glass that stimulates the fire
and brilliance of gemstones because it has relatively high indices of
refraction and strong dispersion the Romans in particular were
very skilful in the production of coloured - glass pastes.
The 18ct Gold shank is engraved all the way down the shoulders,
beautiful workmanship.
It is set with a closed backed silver gallery, which is typical of
the Georgian Era.
This ring is a fabulous find of Georgian, paste original jewellery.
