This fabulous Sterling Silver Scottish Citrine brooch is Circa 1860.
Set with a large natural tested Citrine in the centre approx 12ct in size.
The name Citrine is derived from the colour - the yellow of lemon. Citrine is also known as Gold Topaz and is the birthstone for November.
Ancient cultures believed that placing a Citrine on the forehead of an elder would increase his psychic power.
The Citrineās sparkle and have a crisp, radiant quality about them.
Adorned with fabulous all round Scottish workmanship with celtic designs engraved around the gallery.
