This unique antique 18ct Gold on Silver snake buckle is Victorian Circa 1870.
Serpent jewellery became popular during the early years of Queen Victoria’s reign coinciding with the full flowering of the Romantic Movement. Serpents represent love, loyalty and friendship, which I think you’ll agree is a lovely combination.
The wonderful buckle depicts a coiled snake with a beautifully engraved head with Turquoise eyes.
Turquoise stones are considered a symbol of friendship and were once said to bring good fortune to the wearer.
The buckle is all set in 18ct Yellow Gold on Silver and displays pristine Victorian workmanship all round.
This is a one of a kind antique buckle that looks beautiful when worn, a great talking piece!
