An exquisite Antique late Victorian Albert chain made up of long, interlocking links connected by knotted rope links. Each is crafted in a rosy 9ct Gold and leads to a T-bar at the bottom complete with 9ct stamps.
Albert chains were named after Prince Albert and were used by wealthy Victorian gentlemen to secure a pocket watch by attaching it via the T-bar to the buttonhole of a waistcoat. Today though, they have taken on a new function and commonly worn as a women’s statement necklace.
It’s a wonderful piece, with a good weight to it and is held securely by two claw clasps.
