A magnificent pair of antique Victorian amethyst drop earrings boasting four large oval-cut amethysts with a luxurious deep-violet hue. They weigh approx. 6ct and 12ct and are set in ornate 18ct gold cannetille frames with hook wires at the top.
Amethyst is the birthstone of February and is considered a stone of protection, clarity and tranquillity. Its deep violet colouring has been highly esteemed throughout history, adorning regal jewellery all around the world, from ancient Egypt to the British crown jewels.
