Product Details
A regal antique Victorian bangle bestowed with a large oval cut amethyst at the front with a soft violet hue. It weighs approx. 6ct and is claw set upon a slender 9ct gold band with chased ivy engraving down the sides which was a popular motif in Victorian times, representing eternal love.
Amethyst is the birthstone of February and is considered a stone of protection, clarity and tranquillity. Its deep violet colouring has been highly esteemed throughout history, adorning regal jewellery all around the world, from ancient Egypt to the British crown jewels.
The band has developed a lovely smoothness and rosy patina over time. It’s held by a box clasp and safety chain at the side and features faded Birmingham hallmarks and the maker’s mark within the band indicating it was made by Walter & George Myers in 1893.
