Details
A magnificent antique Victorian festoon necklace featuring five large oval-cut amethysts and three pear-cut amethyst droppers dangling from the bottom. They weigh between 3.5 – 10ct each (approx. 60ct total) and have a deep-violet hue with bright seed pearls dotted around the edge.
Amethyst is the birthstone of February and is considered a stone of protection, clarity and tranquillity. Its deep violet colouring has been highly esteemed throughout history, adorning regal jewellery all around the world, from ancient Egypt to the British crown jewels.
The chain consists of silky 18ct gold snake links that also festoon between each amethyst and lead to an engraved tube clasp at the end. It’s a regal piece, dating to the late 19th Century and showcases a luxurious collection of natural gems.
We recommend you insure for £6,300. We can provide a written Valuation on completion of the sale.
