This wonderful antique Victorian spider bar brooch is crafted in warm 9ct yellow gold and topped with a fabulous spider, set with a soft-lavender amethyst abdomen (approx. 3ct) and a single natural pearl atop the head.
During the late 19th Century, many were left longing to reconnect with the beauty of the natural world after the vast urbanisation of Great Britain. This brought about an abundance of romanticised Insect and bug novelty jewellery, each abundantly decorated with colourful gemstones to highlight the beauty and value of nature.
This beautifully crafted Victorian amethyst spider brooch has remained in excellent condition. A great antique collector’s piece, complete with a strong pin at the back to fasten it securely to your lapel, bag or scarf.
