Product Details
An exquisite antique Victorian Bohemian garnet necklace from the late 19th Century, consisting of 18ct gold links, topped with faceted rose cut Bohemian garnets with a blazing red glow. The highlight of the piece is a fabulous 18ct cross that hangs from the end, also decorated with beautiful red garnets.
Bohemian garnet jewellery is desired for its abundance of rose cut garnets, also known as pyrope crystals. They were originally sourced in the region of Bohemia, which later became the Czech Republic and were highly sought after across Europe in the late 19th Century with their crimson red flame associated with passion and enduring love.
This is a rare antique necklace, displaying exceptional workmanship and glistening red garnets. It’s all in excellent condition and held by a box clasp at the end. Its original antique box also accompanies the piece and has a brown leatherette exterior and cream velvet/ silk interior, with an elevated cushion and holders for the necklace to rest on.
We recommend you insure for £3,000. We can provide a written Valuation on completion of the sale.
